Referral marketing for dermatologists
Dermatologists grow by referral from primary care and pediatrics, and not every practice sends patients out. Leadaura lists those practices in your radius, reads each website for who owns it and whether it already offers dermatology, Mohs surgery and skin cancer screening with biopsy, and ranks the independent practices that don't first, with who to ask for and how to reach them.
Runs not available yet. Leadaura is built for dental specialists, and runs for dermatologists aren't available yet. The free practice count works today: enter your ZIP below to see how many practices are in range.
Who refers to dermatologists
Many dermatology patients book directly, so targeting is softer than for referral-only specialties. The referral-driven part is complex cases from primary care and pediatrics.
You choose which practices to include: family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, primary care clinics. Every run starts with primary care.
What we check on each practice's website
Two checks on every practice's own website: who owns it (independent, or part of a health system), and whether it already offers the services of a dermatologist. The watch list for this specialty:
- dermatology
- Mohs surgery
- skin cancer screening with biopsy
When a website doesn't say who owns the practice, the row says so instead of guessing. A practice that refers inside a health system isn't taken off your list; it ranks lower and the row says why.
Who to call first
| What their website shows | Where they land | What the row says |
|---|---|---|
| Independent, and none of the services above | Call first | Independent practice with no in-house dermatologist service. |
| Part of a health system, or offers the services above | Lower priority | Part of a health system or offers your specialty in-house, so referrals may stay inside. |
| Website could not be read | Unknown | We could not read their website, so we could not tell who owns the practice. |
The ranking also rewards busier practices (five or more Google reviews in the last 90 days) and practices close to you. Each row tells you why it ranked where it did.
What each practice comes with
- The right contact (referral coordinator, practice manager, office manager) where we can find one
- A work email checked before it reaches you, and a direct line where one exists
- The practice's phone, address, website, Google rating and review count
- Who owns it, and which of the services above it already offers
- An opener written from what we found, for the first call or visit
- A map of your radius and a visit route, plus a CSV for your coordinator
How to work the list
- Aim at the referral slice
Focus on independent primary care and pediatric practices that don't already have dermatology on site.
- Be clear about complex cases
Mohs surgery and biopsy results are what referring practices want a clear path for.
- Ask for the person who handles referrals
In many practices that is a referral coordinator or the practice manager, not the physician. Each row names them when we find them.
- Make referring easy, then report back
A direct line for their front desk and a short note on every case keeps the next patient coming.

Questions
Is Leadaura a fit for dermatology?
Partly. Dermatology has more self-referred patients than most specialties, so the ranking is softer, but primary care and pediatric referrals are still a real source.
How does Leadaura tell an independent practice from one owned by a health system?
It reads each practice's own website for the owner or health system name, and marks the practice unknown when the site doesn't say. Independent practices with no in-house service rank first.
Can I run it for dermatologists today?
Not yet. Leadaura is built for dental specialists, and runs for dermatologists aren't available. The free practice count works today: enter your ZIP to see how many practices are in range.
